Title

CONVERSION OF CURRENT SHARED AIR HANDLING UNIT (AHU) TO INDIVIDUAL AHU FOR EACH OPERATING ROOM FOR MOT 7 & 8

Description

Currently, two operating rooms, MOT 7 and 8 are sharing a single air handling unit (AHU) without any backup or alternate AHU. Due to the shared arrangement, two operating rooms need to be shut down during routine scheduled maintenance or in the event of an AHU malfunction. It is important to note that the closure of operating rooms is not limited to AHU servicing or maintenance alone, but also includes any major replacement or repair of systems that could impact air quality in the operating rooms. Poor air quality increases the risk of surgical site infections.

Therefore, the objective of this project is to supply and install dedicated AHUs for each operating theatre, duty and standby exhaust and fresh air fans, and other necessary equipment. By doing so, we aim to reduce disruptions to the operating schedule caused by the issues mentioned earlier. The installation of individual AHUs will help maintain the efficiency and availability of each operating room, minimizing the impact on the operating schedule and ensuring smooth operations.
