Education

The department is passionate about medical education and regularly carries out various educational activities, which are includes but are not limited to:

  • Annual public outreach educational activities on Asthma Day and COPD Day
  • Clinical lecturers & examiners for medical students from National University of Singapore Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, Duke-NUS, and Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine
  • Annual preparatory course in Respiratory Medicine for final year medical students to prepare them for final examinations
  • Major participating institution for training of future specialists in the Singhealth Senior Residency Program for Respiratory & Critical Care Medicine
  • Major participating institution for training of junior residents in the Singhealth Junior Residency Program for Internal Medicine
  • Educational talks at Polyclinics and General Practitioner Symposiums on the management of common respiratory conditions
  • Annual preparatory course in Respiratory Medicine for Family Medicine trainees before their examinations
  • Educational talks and interactive simulation workshops for our nurses and allied health professionals

In addition to bedside clinical teaching, we incorporate simulation based medical education in Changi Simulation Institute and conduct lectures and workshops as part of the Academic Medicine Education Institute during most of our educational activities.
