Pulmonary Function Laboratory

Our Pulmonary Function Laboratory offers a wide variety of tests to diagnose and manage conditions that affect the breathing and respiratory physiology during rest or exercise.

We cater to both inpatient and outpatient settings within CGH. We also accept direct referrals for tests from primary care physicians or specialists in other government-restructured or private hospitals.

Tests that we perform include:

• Body Plethysmography
• Bronchial provocation testing with methacholine challenge test
• Bronchodilator response testing
• Cardiopulmonary exercise testing
• Diffusing capacity
• Exercise challenge test
• Fractional exhaled nitric oxide
• Helium dilution FRC (functional residual capacity) determination
• Impulse oscillometry
• Maximum inspiratory and expiratory pressures
• Maximum voluntary ventilation
• Resting metabolic rate
• Six-minute walk test
• Spirometry
