Heritage & Legacy

The Heritage & Legacy event on 17 January 2024 marked the finale of the CGH 88th Anniversary celebrations. Contributed by CGH’s then-Chief Executive Officer, Prof Ng Wai Hoe; and Chief Risk Officer, Clin Assoc Prof Peter Lu, the hand-painted wall art installation pays tribute to the hospital’s rich heritage of clinical excellence, laid down by generations of dedicated healthcare professionals at Changi Hospital and Toa Payoh Hospital, through to the CGH of today and tomorrow.

Famed for its rich colour and strength, a Changi tree (sindora wallichii) was jointly planted by Prof Ng Wai Hoe and then-CEO (Designate) Assoc Prof Ng Kee Chong at the outdoor garden near the CGH Main Building fish pond. The taking root of the new Changi tree on home ground represents CGH’s enduring commitment to its lasting legacy of trusted care, and a new chapter in the CGH story, as Assoc Prof Ng Kee Chong takes the reins as CEO to grow CGH to greater heights on 1 February 2024.
