Clin Asst Prof Andre Tay Teck Sng

Dr Andre Tay Teck Sng is a senior consultant with the Department of Psychological Medicine at Changi General Hospital (CGH) and the director of Outpatient Services at the Psychological Medicine Centre. His clinical work focuses on general adult psychiatry, individual and group psychodynamic psychotherapy and he is a staff member of the CGH Complex Needs Service.

He has introduced and continues to conduct the balint groups to CGH residents and to family physicians under the Health Wellness Programme, Assessment and Shared Cared Teams (ASCAT). Dr Tay also teaches medical students and residents and conducts healthcare communication workshops to CGH staff.

Obtaining his medical degree from the National University of Singapore (NUS) Faculty of Medicine in 2003, Dr Tay became a specialist in psychiatry in 2012. He completed his subspecialty fellowship in psychodynamic psychotherapy with both the Tower Hamlets Psychological Therapies Service at the Mile End Hospital, and the Institute of Group Analysis in London in 2015. He is also an accredited practitioner of mentalisation based treatment (MBT).
