Dr Chow Weien is the current Head and Senior Consultant Cardiologist, as well as Chief Data and Digital Officer at Changi General Hospital (CGH). He sub-specialises in the use of multi-modality cardiac imaging in the diagnosis, risk stratification and management of coronary artery disease and other heart conditions. He is also a Visiting Consultant (Hyperbaric & Diving Medicine) to Singapore General Hospital and the Singapore Armed Forces.
Dr Chow completed his Bachelors in Medicine & Surgery (MBBS) from the National University of Singapore (NUS) in 2002 and obtained Membership of Royal Colleges of Physicians (MRCP) in 2008. He went on to complete his cardiology training in Singapore followed by further training in Nuclear Cardiology at Cedars Sinai Medical Center and Cardiac CT Angiography at Johns Hopkins Medical Center in the USA. He is also trained in Echocardiography.
As the Chief Data and Digital Officer, he champions digitalisation, drives data management and data governance, and promotes the importance of cybersecurity policies and best practices.
Prior to joining CGH, Dr Chow served in the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) for more than 16 years before retiring from active military service as the Chief Naval Medical Officer and Commander, Force Medical Protection Command. He received his Hyperbaric and Diving Medicine training in the USA.
