Pleural Clinic

Lung collapse can occur either as a result of fluid accumulating in the space outside the lungs (pleural effusions) or from air outside the lungs (pneumothorax). Though common, management of these diseases may be complex and require advance investigations and management. As such, we have a team of doctors to care for patients with pleural diseases.

At the pleural clinic, a comprehensive assessment is performed on patients with pleural diseases. Advanced investigations for pleural sampling may be required and may include procedures such as pleuroscopy, ultrasound-guided bedside pleural biopsy or CT-guided pleural biopsy. Management of pleural diseases may require the insertion of chest tubes as well as surgery.

Our doctors also work closely with our specialists from Interventional Radiology and Cardiothoracic Surgery.
