Research in CGH

RIE At CGH

The Research, Innovation and Enterprise (RIE) team at Changi General Hospital (CGH) seeks to advance the hospital’s efforts through a “one-door” seamless support structure by:

  • Strengthening support for RIE-related projects from conceptualisation to actualisation
  • Facilitating CGH's development and growth in RIE capabilities
  • Aligning RIE activities with the overall strategic direction of CGH

The RIE team consists of the following departments:

Centre for Healthcare Assistive Robotics and Technologies (CHART)

The Centre for Healthcare Assistive & Robotics Technology (CHART) supports clinical innovators and their potential partners in test bedding innovative healthcare solutions in assistive technologies and robotics, with facilitation of grants such as Smart Nursing Ward (SNW) and Singapore Healthcare Assistive & Robotics Programme (SHARP).

Clinical Trial & Research Unit (CTRU)

The Clinical Trials & Research Unit (CTRU) was established to centralise resources and efficiently provide support to research activities in the hospital. The team supports researchers in grant applications, ethics and regulatory submissions, study initiation to completion, as well as publication. CTRU also has a well-equipped research lab which provides bench-work support for investigator-led studies and sponsored trials.

Health Services Research (HSR)

The Health Services Research (HSR) team seeks to enable evidence-based decision-making through multi-disciplinary methodologies. The team works closely with partners and collaborators to enable translation of research findings into healthcare delivery improvement and/or better patient outcomes.

Office of Innovation (OOI)

The Office of Innovation (OOI) supports clinician innovators in their projects from ideation, to prototyping, and implementation, co-creating and delivering user-centric solutions to our patients, healthcare providers and CGH.
