MediSave is a national medical savings scheme that helps individuals set aside part of their income to pay for their personal or approved dependents' hospitalisations, day surgeries and selected outpatient treatments.
MediSave withdrawal limits have been carefully set to ensure that Singaporeans have sufficient savings in their MediSave Account to pay for their basic healthcare needs. The withdrawal limits are generally adequate to cover most of the charges incurred at subsidised inpatient wards and outpatient treatment incurred by individuals and their immediate family members listed below:

MediShield Life is a basic health insurance, administered by the Central Provident Fund (CPF) Board, which helps to pay for large hospital bills and selected outpatient treatments, such as dialysis and chemotherapy. Premiums may be fully paid using MediSave. Please visit MOH website for more information.
As of 1 November 2015, all Singapore Citizens and Permanent Residents are automatically covered under MediShield Life, including those with pre-existing conditions.

The Government will also provide support to keep premiums affordable, including those who need to pay additional premiums:
Integrated Shield Plans (IPs) are a scheme which allows CPF members to use their MediSave savings to buy MediSave-approved Integrated Shield Plans for themselves and their dependents. Dependents refer to a member's parents, spouse, children, siblings and grandparents who are Singaporean / PR.
It is integrated with MediShield Life and coverage is administered by private insurance companies. Depending on the indiviudual’s private insurance plan, it provides additional coverage for stays in A or B1 ward types at both public and private hospitals. Lastly, it can be used for selected costly outpatient treatments, such as dialysis and chemotherapy for cancer.
Each insured person can only have one MediSave-approved Integrated Shield Plan paid with MediSave.
There are two types of Medical Claim Authorisation Forms (MCAF) which the Ministry of Health has introduced so far:
MCAF (Single) allows individuals to decide and provide limited consent on the utilisation of their MediSave. Individuals can choose to limit the type of schemes and/or the period which they would like to authorise for MediSave to be used. For Inpatient and Day Surgery, MCAF (Single) is only applicable for one admission. For Outpatient treatment, MCAF (Single) can be authorised for the chosen time period.
Complete the MCAF (Single) form and submit it here.

MCAF (Multiple) allows individuals to grant full consent to use their own MediSave at all MediSave accredited healthcare institutions. MCAF (Multiple) provides ease as individuals only need to sign once, for life, unless revoked. To submit the MCAF (Multiple) authorisation electronically via HealthHub, click here.
After you have completed the authorisation, please inform the PSA if you would like to use MediSave for your visit.
