Established in 2023, the Singapore Changi Aeromedical Centre (SCAC) is a one-stop centre that provides aeromedical services encompassing clinical screening and aviation physiology training within the field of aviation medicine for Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) aircrew, related service personnel and other commercial clients.

Our multidisciplinary team at the SCAC comprises physicians, nurses and specialist equipment operators, committed to delivering aeromedical expertise tailored to individual needs.

The SCAC’s clinical arm is equipped with medical facilities that meet the stringent requirements of both civil and military aviation medical certifications, and features dental and radiology services, audiology, cardiac stress testing, and an ocular examination facility that provides thorough assessments for aviation personnel.

The anthropometry rig measures key physical dimensions to ensure cockpit ergonomics for pilot safety and comfort.

The centre’s training section operates specialised equipment such as a human training centrifuge, spatial disorientation trainers, night vision trainers, a hypobaric chamber, ejection seat trainer and somatogyral turn table, to support both military and civilian aviation training needs.

As part of CGH’s Occupational and Aviation Medicine Service (OAMS), SCAC is committed to maintaining the health and operational readiness of aviation professionals, particularly those serving in the RSAF. Beyond this, SCAC extends its expertise to support occupational health in related industries through its commitment to excellence in clinical care and innovative training methodologies.

SCAC also actively supports the training and development of aviation medicine specialists in Singapore and collaborates with the RSAF Medical Service as part of Changi General Hospital’s efforts as a regional centre of excellence for aviation medicine.
