SingHealth Duke-NUS Memory and Cognitive Disorder Centre doctors on dementia care

​29 September 2020 - Doctors from SingHealth Duke-NUS doctors Memory and Cognitive Disorder Centre spoke about the four most common causes of dementia, mainly Alzheimer’s disease (AD), frontotemporal lobe degeneration, dementia with Lewy Bodies and vascular bementia. A/Prof Lim Si Ching, Senior Consultant, Department of Geriatric Medicine, CGH shared that AD accounts for about 60-70% of the overall cases of dementia. Doctors also emphasised the need for targeted care when treating dementia patients. Dr Vanessa Mok, Consultant, Department of Psychological Medicine, CGH provided insights into how community care can help and support persons with dementia and their caregivers.
