Singapore, 4 October 2025 – SingHealth has raised $1.41 million for the President’s Challenge 2025. The amount raised was unveiled by Guest-of-Honour President Tharman Shanmugaratnam at the SingHealth President’s Challenge (SHPC) 2025 Grand Finale held at Changi General Hospital (CGH) today.

Themed “Your Compassion, Their Hope”, the SHPC 2025 campaign has been led by CGH. It rallied 38,000 SingHealth staff, across 13 institutions, to raise funds for programmes by four adopted President’s Challenge benefitting organisations – Abilities Beyond Limitations and Expectations Limited (ABLE), Centre for Seniors, Filos Community Services, and St. Andrew's Mission Hospital (St. Andrew's Autism Centre).

Since 2004, SingHealth has actively supported the President’s Challenge through fundraising, volunteerism and engagement activities with the beneficiaries and communities. As SingHealth marks its 25th anniversary, and CGH, its 90th anniversary, this year, SHPC 2025 reaffirms SingHealth’s commitment to care for patients, uplift communities and support a more inclusive society.

“It is our privilege to continue to support the President’s Challenge. I am heartened to see all our staff coming together with generosity and heart as one SingHealth family to pool their time and talents for a greater cause and uplift the vulnerable in our society. Through our collective efforts, we managed to raise $1.41 million. I believe these funds will empower our adopted benefitting agencies to bring about targeted and sustained support that addresses the unique challenges faced by the different communities they serve,” said Prof Ng Wai Hoe, Group Chief Executive Officer, SingHealth.

“Leading this year’s SingHealth President’s Challenge has been profoundly meaningful for CGH as we celebrate our 90th anniversary. It reflects our belief that compassion and empathy can ignite hope beyond the walls of our hospital. We are thankful to our colleagues, partners and sponsors whose generosity has strengthened our mission to serve the community,” said Clin Prof Ng Kee Chong, Chief Executive Officer, CGH.

Fundraising and outreach activities included a pledge card donation drive, charity bazaars, and engagement activities with the beneficiaries. The signature event ‘Sports Day 2025’ was held on 6 September at The Arena at Woodleigh and brought together staff, celebrities, former national players and supporters for an evening of competitive action, camaraderie and cheer. In the weeks leading up to SHPC Sports Day, 600 colleagues took part in the preliminary rounds of captain ball, futsal and cheerleading competitions, as well as a bowling tournament and clinic.

The SHPC 2025 Grand Finale with President Tharman gracing the occasion today was a recognition and celebration of the contributions of staff and partners. In addition, to commemorate CGH’s 90th anniversary, the CGH Orchid was unveiled during the celebrations. It represents the hospital’s legacy as a trusted healthcare partner that is committed to innovating healthcare for tomorrow. The Vandachostylis species is characterised by large, showy flowers that grow compactly with tightly clustered blooms, reflecting the way multidisciplinary care teams work closely together as OneCGH to advance care excellence. The event marked a fitting conclusion to SHPC 2025, underscoring SingHealth’s dedication to grow with the community, for the community.
