At CGH, continuing medical education is essential for medical professionals to keep abreast of the latest advancements in medicine and clinical practices which are aimed at providing enhanced patient care.

The Office of MPG Education organises continuing medical education activities and accredited programmes, both online and offline, to constantly meet and develop the on-going training needs of clinicians.

Faculty Development

Faculty development is a continuous process of learning and teaching to improve and impart knowledge and skills to physicians who dedicate precious time to educate and nurture future generations of medical practitioners.

The Office of MPG Education is committed to growing a culture of learning and building the capacity of our educators. The office engages faculty members in professional development as educational leaders with funding, sponsorships, and administrative support for various education & research programmes and activities, including inter-professional education and formal education postgraduate certificated programmes.

Courses, Workshops and Conferences

The Office of MPG Education actively partners clinical departments and faculty members to work with accredited academic and healthcare institutions on programmes, courses and conferences that are key to the development of medical educators in an inter-professional environment.

The programmes and activities are initiated and organised to further develop the clinical and professional knowledge and skills of the inter-professionals to meet the educational needs that lead to enhanced and quality patient care.

General Practitioner Continuing Medical Events (GP CME)

The Office of MPG Education collaborates with our clinical divisions to organise Singapore Medical Council-accredited continuing medical events (CME) for health professionals to maintain and improve their professional knowledge and skills to deliver better patient care and outcomes. We also support the GPFirst CME programmes held quarterly for their participating clinics, which is aimed at increasing the management of conditions and its timeliness within the community.

General Practitioners (GP) looking to stay current and updated with the constant changes in medicine can do so with Changi General Hospital where various talks and events are organised to help you stay up to date.

Hospital Clinician Scheme

Healthcare demands are expected to increase with the rapid ageing population and increasing prevalence of chronic diseases in Singapore. Dovetailing with the Ministry of Health’s ‘3 Beyonds’ strategy to transform care, the Hospital Clinician (HC) scheme aims to support more sustainable medical manpower growth for an efficient care delivery system.

The programme is designed for non-specialist Hospital Clinicians to anchor inpatient care services in acute and subacute settings, a role complementary to specialists. The Hospital Clinician scheme is an important element in the overall plan of care transformation to ensure that Singapore’s healthcare system remains sustainable, and maintains a consistently high standard of care to address the healthcare needs of the Singapore population.
