About Doctor

Dr Scott Xu is a Consultant with the Department of Sport and Exercise Medicine at Changi General Hospital (CGH). He graduated from the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore, subsequently completed training in Family Medicine and attained sub-specialisation in the domain of sport and exercise medicine at CGH. Currently, he sees patients at SSMC@CGH and provides specialised care for national athletes at the High Performance Sport Institute, Singapore.
 
As a former competitive student athlete in football, Dr Xu's journey and practice of sports medicine is influenced by his experiences. He adopts a holistic, patient-centred approach in providing comprehensive care for patients spanning varying ages and athletic backgrounds, to help them achieve their performance potential.
 
Beyond his clinical role at CGH, Dr Xu is an active leader in the sports medicine community. He currently serves as the Medical Director for the Singapore Rugby Union and as the Team Physician for the Singapore Young Lions. His extensive experience in elite sports also includes serving as the Chief Medical Officer for the SEA Games 2025, alongside previous roles providing medical support to athletes at numerous international sporting events.
 
Beyond his work with teams, Dr Xu is a dedicated educator in Sport and Exercise Medicine and Family Medicine, notably contributing to CGH’s Graduate Diploma in Sports Medicine programme and various external academic appointments.
