About

Dr Alvin Woo is an Associate Consultant with the Occupational and Aviation Medicine Service at Changi General Hospital (CGH). Dr Woo graduated from the National University of Singapore Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine in 2012. After serving in the Republic of Singapore Air Force Medical Service, he obtained his Master of Medicine in Family Medicine in 2018 and his Diploma in Aviation Medicine in 2020. Dr Woo graduated from King's College London with a Master of Science in Aerospace Medicine in 2021, making him the first non-military trainee to complete Advanced Specialist Training in Aviation Medicine in 2023.

Dr Woo's expertise encompasses aeromedical assessments for civil and military aviation personnel, ensuring pilots and aircrew meet medical fitness requirements for safe flight operations. He conducts medical evaluations, manages aviation-related conditions, and provides specialised care that balances treatment efficacy with aviation safety standards.
Beyond clinical assessments, Dr Woo is actively involved in aviation physiology training programmes at the Singapore Changi Aeromedical Centre (SCAC), working alongside multi-disciplinary teams to prepare military pilots for high-performance flight operations. His area of interests include physiological effects of acceleration forces, hypoxia recognition and management, and developing comprehensive fitness-to-fly protocols that enhance aircrew safety and operational readiness.

Dr Woo’s clinical expertise and practical flying experience allows him to better understand the challenges faced by aircrew, and contributes to his holistic approach to aviation medicine practice.
