2022

CGH introduces home-based prehabilitation programme that provides cancer patients a head-start in recovery.

CGH, CapitaLand Investment (CLI) and KONE collaborate to advance the integration of robotics in buildings, with national standard launched to guide industry players on synchronising communications between robots and smart infrastructure. CGH and CLI also signs Memorandum of Understanding to create co-innovation and deployment opportunities to drive discovery, adaptation and adoption of smart cities solutions, and develop initiatives to excite, educate and engage the community in health and wellness. The signing is witnessed by Deputy Prime Minister Heng Swee Keat.

CGH partners NTU’s Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine, SGH, and TTSH in setting up the first of its kind Singapore Severe Asthma Registry (SSAR) in the country.

CGH, in collaboration with researchers from A*STAR’s Institute of Bioengineering and Bioimaging (IBB) and local biomedical start-up Lucence, conducted the first local prospective study which demonstrated that a blood-based liquid biopsy can be used to complement the conventional tissue biopsy for lung cancer diagnosis.

CGH partners Respiree to advance patient care through smart remote monitoring of vital signs, saving time spent by nurses on vital signs monitoring daily.

2021

Deputy Prime Minister Heng Swee Keat officially opens the Shimadzu-CGH Clinomics Centre (SC3) to conduct mass spectrometry-based clinical testing and research for personalised treatment, for better clinical care for patients with hypertension and other chronic diseases. A Research Collaboration Agreement between Changi General Hospital (CGH) and Shimadzu (Asia Pacific) was signed.

CGH and SUTD co-create and receive US patent for the Blood WArning Technology with Continuous Haemoglobin (BWATCH) sensor, a warning sensor for early detection of wound bleeding.

CGH and Changi Airport Group ink Memorandum of Understanding to formalise partnership to collaborate on travel wellness and aviation medicine, and drive the course of health, wellness and innovation for the airport community.

Senior Minister of State Koh Poh Koon officially opens the CGH Wound Healing Centre, a one-stop multi-disciplinary centre to provide early interventions and outpatient treatment of chronic wounds. CGH signs a Memorandum of Understanding with local biotechnology company Celligenics to advance wound care research.

CGH launches Performing Arts Medicine initiative and sets up Performing Arts Medicine Clinic (PAMC) at the Singapore Sport and Exercise Medicine Centre at Novena (SSMC @ Novena) to meet health needs of performing artists in Singapore.

2020

CGH and CAAS strengthen collaboration in aviation medicine with Civil Aviation Medical Examination Centre in Changi Airport, offering improved medical support under one roof for greater convenience to aviation licence holders.

2019

CGH set up the Changi Aviation Medicine Centre (CAMC), Singapore’s first aviation medicine centre within a government restructured hospital, offering customised care for pilots, cabin crew and air traffic control staff.

2018

CGH joins the SingHealth Duke-NUS AMC family as part of the nation’s reorganisation of the public healthcare system into three integrated clusters, to better meet Singaporeans’ future healthcare needs.

CGH’s new Medical Centre is opened, enhancing specialist care by providing care to patients with complex medical conditions in a more integrated way.

2017

CGH launches the Health Peers Programme in partnership with community stakeholders and government agencies.

2016

CGH and the Singapore National Eye Centre launched the SNEC Eye Clinic @ CGH to deliver more specialised eye care services, particularly for age-related eye conditions such as cataracts, glaucoma, corneal diseases, and retina-related conditions like diabetic retinopathy.

CGH pioneers CareLine, a personal care telephone service that provides 24/7 health and social support to vulnerable seniors in need of urgent assistance while keeping them safe and healthy at home and within the community.

2015

The Integrated Building (IB), jointly run by CGH and St. Andrew’s Community Hospital (SACH) is opened, providing a new model of care to optimise rehabilitation for patients.

2014

CGH launches GPFirst to encourage residents in the east to visit their General Practitioners first for mild to moderate conditions.

2013

Health Minister Gan Kim Yong officially opens the NCCS Oncology Clinic @ CGH, the first satellite clinic by the National Cancer Centre Singapore (NCCS). The clinic provides oncologic consultations and outpatient chemotherapy for CGH patients with breast and gastrointestinal cancers.

2012

CGH opens the Centre for Innovation, a platform for healthcare technology translation and the Changi Simulation Institute, an integrated simulation training centre that enables healthcare professionals to train safely and efficiently through realistic training scenarios across a wide range of clinical situations.

2011

CGH becomes a founding member of the Eastern Health Alliance, a regional health system to provide seamless, quality care for eastern Singapore. The first Eastern Health Alliance Scientific Meeting was also held where two programmes, Transitional Care and Grace Corner, were launched.

2010

CGH acquires the Singapore Sports Medicine Centre on 1 November 2010 as it envisioned the growth of sports medicine in Singapore and wanted to continue to play a leading role to develop this discipline.

2008

CGH launches myhealth.sg, Singapore’s first online weight management programme to empower individuals to manage their health and fitness needs online anytime, anywhere.

2005

CGH launches the Community Health Ambassador Programme for Seniors (CHAMPS) with the Ministry of Community Youth and Sports to empower active elderly volunteers with basic healthcare skills.

2004

CGH opens a new Geriatric Centre that houses both the Specialist Clinics and the Geriatric Day Hospital, offering the convenience of a one-stop service for elderly patients.

2003

The Singapore Sport & Exercise Medicine Centre @ Changi General Hospital (CGH), the largest multidisciplinary sports centre in Singapore, is established. Equipped with the latest technologies and a gym, the centre caters to recreational and competitive athletes from a wide range of sports.

2002

CGH opens a one-stop Diabetes Centre with related services housed under one roof for greater patient privacy and greater convenience.

2001

CGH launches its online pharmacy, www.mypharmacy.com.sg to provide 24/7 access for the purchase of homecare and retail medical supplies.

2000

CGH launches new clinical services in Sports Medicine, Dermatology, Psychological Medicine, Rheumatology and Neurosurgery.
