ReXilience® Course: Be Resilient, Be Awesome 

Summary
Resilience comprises inner strengths of mind and character, which enable individuals to respond to adversities and everyday stress. Resilience also provides the capacity to prevent mental health conditions that may evolve over time due to stress-induced situations, life struggles and adversities. When individuals recognise their inner strengths, they recognise that they have the innate capacity and ability to cope and improve their lives.

This course aims to provide participants with a reflective space and skills to enhance personal resilience in response to life’s setbacks and adversities. There will be experiential exercises such as individual reflective processes and group discussions that will enhance somatic, emotional, psychological and relational resilience of participants.

This is not intended to be a therapy or counselling course.

This course enables participants to:
  • Deepen their understanding of the five intelligences in building resilience
  • Reflect on personal life challenges/ adversities and learn to respond differently and positively
  • Develop stronger self-awareness to navigate through life challenges and strengthen personal resilience

In our team-care courses, participants will be equipped with knowledge and skills to provide psychological support to others and understand the support and resources available.


ReXilience® Course: Crisis Support for Individual Resilience

Summary

Critical incidents are often sudden and unexpected. Most people will experience some degree of psychological and emotional impact when faced with an unusually challenging event.

This course equips participants with the knowledge and skills to provide one-on-one crisis support to individuals experiencing stress and crisis reactions that typically arise after a crisis incident.

Participants will be given opportunities to practise these skills during the course.


This course will enable participants to:

  • Identify the signs and symptoms of stress and crisis reactions
  • Apply the C.A.R.E.(Communicate with empathy, Awareness of struggles, Risk assessment, Empower to make changes) framework to provide crisis support to individuals 
  • Guide a person in distress towards professional help when needed
  • Practise self-care upon recognising the impact of crisis support work

Recommended for  
  • Individuals who are interested to provide initial psychological help to
    others experiencing distress after a critical incident.
  • Organisations that are planning to strengthen resilience among staff as well as develop crisis support capability.

ReXilience® Course: Post-Incident Dialogue with Empathy

Summary

Staff exposed to critical incidents may perceive and experience these events as threats to their safety or disruptors to the stability of their world. While most individuals have a baseline of resilience, which allows them to cope with the impact, some may need additional help to recover from physical and emotional distress. An empathic ear, a compassionate colleague and a caring team will help in the recovery process.

This course provides leaders with the skills to convey factual information to keep their staff abreast of the challenging situations, reduce speculation among staff, raise awareness of the actions taken and acknowledge the emotional distress experienced by staff.

Participants will be given opportunities to practise these skills during the course.

This course will enable participants to:

  • Identify the signs and symptoms of stress and crisis reactions
  • Integrate empathic communication techniques when conducting
    post-incident dialogues
  • Apply the five-step process when conducting post-incident dialogues
  • Practise self-care techniques to prevent compassion fatigue

  • Leaders who need to update staff and address the development of
    psychological and emotional distress after critical incidents and
    challenging events.
  • Organisations that are planning to enhance team cohesion and improve staff engagement with post-incident dialogue capability.

ReXilience® Course: Mental Wellness C.A.R.E

Summary

Destigmatising mental disorders allows individuals to support those at risk of struggling with these conditions and individuals affected by life struggles. It validates their experiences and acknowledges that their struggles are being heard. This is essential to improve quality of life and support sustainable recovery.  


This course raises awareness on how participants can engage individuals experiencing life struggles, or those at risk of developing mental health issues to support them.


This course will enable participants to:

  • Utilise C.A.R.E.(Communicate with empathy, Awareness of struggles, Risk assessment, Empower to make changes) framework to support affected individuals experiencing life struggles 
  • Recognise the signs and symptoms of common mental disorder
  • Learn communication strategies to support affected individuals experiencing life struggles  
  • Identify self-help strategies that may empower affected individuals
Recommended for  

Individuals who are interested to develop an awareness of how to support someone experiencing life struggles or those at risk of developing mental health conditions.
