Talks

Overview

Don't just sleep on it – Find out the secrets to overcoming insomnia and achieving more restful nights for yourself!

Difficulty staying asleep through the night; constantly counting down the hours to sunrise or feeling tired even after you're awake – These are some common symptoms of sleep disorders.

At this session, Clinical Psychologist Dr Soon Siew Peng from Changi General Hospital will explain more about one of the common sleep disorders, insomnia. She will also touch on:

  • Factors that contribute towards good sleep;
  • Why certain behaviours are maintaining your sleep problems; and
  • Tips on how you can improve your sleep with better sleep hygiene.

Towards the end of the session, there will also be a short sharing about the GPFirst Programme, a national programme that encourages the community to seek the first point of medical care at a general practitioner (GP) for mild to moderate conditions.

This programme is suitable for those aged 50 and above, and is organised in collaboration with National Library Board.
