​Approximately 1 in 10 people are affected by Diabetes in Singapore. People with diabetes are more likely to experience hearing loss, as high blood sugar levels can damage the nerves and tiny blood vessels in the inner ear. Over time, this damage affects our ability to hear. Hence, managing blood sugar is not only good for your overall health but also helps to protect your ears. Tune in to find out more!

Speaker Profile

​Clinical Assistant Professor Kenneth Chua is a senior Audiologist at Changi General Hospital, with almost a decade of clinical experience treating patients with hearing and balance disorders. Dr Chua's interest in innovation and research has led to successful research grants and peer-reviewed publications. As an award winning Audiologist, he continues to be at the forefront of research and education as a trailblazer in Audiology. He is currently a visiting lecturer at the National University of Singapore and an executive committee member of the SingHealth Allied Health and Pharmacy research council.
