Physiotherapists work with patients to help them regain mobility and function. They assess joint movement, muscle strength and endurance, and evaluate performance of daily activities and sports. Treatment includes therapeutic exercise, cardiovascular endurance training, manual therapy and other supplementary modalities including robotic aided therapy.

Patients admitted to Changi General Hospital (CGH) may be referred for physiotherapy depending on diagnoses and therapeutic needs. Our therapists will assess and provide intervention tailored to the patient’s medical and physical status.

Neurological Physiotherapy
This service is for patients with neurological conditions such as traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, stroke, Parkinson’s disease, etc.
Vestibular Rehabilitation
Patients with giddiness due to vestibular (inner ear balance) conditions can be treated with exercise or movements to manage the symptoms of giddiness and imbalance.
Geriatric Physiotherapy
Common conditions that affect older adults such as falls and frailty (i.e. loss of muscle strength, balance and energy) are treated with exercise to maximize independence.
Respiratory Physiotherapy
Patients with chronic respiratory disorders (e.g. chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and bronchiectasis) may be referred to our service to learn secretion management techniques, exercise re-training and breathing exercises. We place emphasis on the education of self-management strategies for long-term management.
Cardiac Physiotherapy
Our team provides medically supervised exercise interventions that include exercise training and education on active lifestyle for individuals recovering from a heart attack or other cardiac conditions.
