What side effects can
Etoposide (Oral)
cause?
- Nausea can sometimes occur when you first start taking Etoposide.
You may be given an anti-nausea medicine with your treatment.
- Loss of appetite; changes in tatse
- Mouth sores or ulcers
- Diarrhea or constipation
- Tiredness and lack of energy
- Hair loss is common and may begin within a few days or weeks of treatment.
If hair loss occurs, use a gentle baby shampoo and a soft brush. Avoid hair spray, bleaches, dyes and perms.
Inform your doctor if any of the following occurs:
- Fever of 38°C or higher
- Chills and rigors
- Sore throat, hoarseness
- Pain or difficulty in urination
- Unusual bleeding or bruising
- Numbness or tingling in fingers and toes
