TriClip™ - What it is

TriClip™ is a transcatheter (minimally-invasive) tricuspid valve repair system to treat severe tricuspid valve regurgitation in patients who are at high risk for open-heart surgery.

The TriClip system procedure builds upon the successful MitraClip system, where the MitraClip treatment helps with mitral valve regurgitation. TriClip serves to repair the leaky tricuspid valves by delivering a clip system to the heart through the femoral vein in the leg, and clipping a portion of the leaflets of the tricuspid valve to reduce the backflow of blood.

NHCS successfully performed the first case of TriClip in Southeast Asia.

The TriClip procedure is also part of the comprehensive suite of treatment options offered at NHCS, for patients with severe heart valve disease. The treatment options ranges from medication therapies, minimally invasive (percutaneous or transcatheter) procedures, and surgical treatments to repair or replace the damaged valve.
