Dr Wang Jenn Chyuan graduated from the Queen’s University, Belfast in 1996, winning several awards and scholarships in the process which included the coveted Sir John Henry Biggart prize for Ophthalmology.
He underwent further specialisation in the field of Cornea, Cataract and Refractive Surgery with a fellowship in The Eye Institute in 2005. This was followed by a highly sort-after anterior segment fellowship in the prestigious Moorfields Eye Hospital, London in 2006.
Dr Wang was Head of Corneal Department in National University Hospital in 2009. In 2010, he joined SNEC to further advance his career.
Dr Wang has numerous publications in internationally renowned books and journals. He also co-authored a book chapter on modern glaucoma tube implants in Asia. He has refereed papers for international and local peer-reviewed journals.
He has led teaching teams to Yangon Eye Hospital in Myanmar and performed charity cataract surgery in Phnom Penh and shared experiences with premium lenses in Vietnam. He has been regularly teaching Phacodynamics in the Basic Phacoemulsification Course and Presbyopia treatment in the Lasik Accreditation Course.
His current interest is in cataract surgery and implantation with premium lenses like extended range of vision, multifocal and astigmatism correcting lenses.
