SNEC Eye Clinic @ CGH
SNEC Eye Clinic @ CGH is a collaborative set-up between Changi General Hospital (CGH) and Singapore National Eye Centre (SNEC). Established to serve the eye care needs in the east of Singapore, the clinic is staffed by specialist consultants from SNEC, and supported by a team of specialised ophthalmic nurses, optometrists, ophthalmic technicians and an orthoptist.
The consultants and senior consultants in the clinic are fellowship trained with many having received training in world renowned institutions such as Moorfields Eye Hospital (UK), Johns Hopkins Hospital (USA), Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary (USA) and Doheny Eye Institute (USA).
SNEC Eye Clinic @ CGH offers a full range of specialised subspecialty eye services including General Cataract & Comprehensive Ophthalmology, Corneal & External Eye Disease, Glaucoma, Medical & Surgical Retina, Neuro-ophthalmology, Ocular Inflammation & Immunology and Oculoplastic.
Our services also include multi-disciplinary teams that comprise specialists from other fields: 1) Ear, Nose & Throat (ENT)/Facial plastic surgery and Dental/ Maxillofacial surgery for facial trauma; 2) Dermatology for periocular skin cancer; 3) Rheumatology, Infectious Disease and Respiratory for uveitis.
We believe that early diagnosis and management is important in ensuring the best possible visual outcomes for our patients. Our clinic is equipped with a range of imaging, diagnostic and therapeutic equipment such as argon laser machines to treat a number of eye conditions including glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy and retinal tears; computerised visual field analysers for the assessment of glaucoma, as well as an optical coherence tomography imaging system for glaucoma and retinal imaging and analysis.
As the population in the east increases, the SNEC Eye Clinic @ CGH will continue to expand and enhance its range of services to meet the growing needs of patients. Our team will move into the new CGH Medical Centre in 2018, with larger clinical space and more consultation rooms, and a greater range of ophthalmic equipment and services.
