Suelyn graduated in 1998, and went on to attain a Degree at Curtin University of Technology in 2000 and Doctor of Physical Therapy from University of Montana in 2024. She worked in the area of Musculoskeletal and Sports physiotherapy since and has gained clinical experience across a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions.
Suelyn has obtained various specialty certifications including American College of Medicine (ACSM) Group Exercise Leader, ACSM Health Fitness Instructor and Australian Strength and Conditioning Coach Level 1 and 2. She has been a certified Kinesiotape instructor from 2004 to 2015 and has conducted numerous local and South East Asia (SEA) certification courses during that period. In 2000, Suelyn was awarded the MOH Health Manpower Development Programme (HMDP) fellowship for Sports Physiotherapy to University of Pittsburg Medical Centre.
She is a clinical educator with Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine Graduate Diploma in Sports Medicine and was an adjunct lecturer in Nanyang Polytechnic teaching Basic Principals of Isokinetic from 2009 to 2013 and has been clinical supervisor to both local and foreign physiotherapy students. She has had experience with various sporting teams both locally and internationally. She has been involved in field coverage for soccer, rugby, table tennis, netball and Tchoukball. She has also served as the lead Physiotherapist at the Paris 2024 Summer Olympics, 32nd SEA Games (Cambodia) 2023, 19th Asian Games Hangzhou 2022, Commonwealth/Birmingham 2022 Games, 31st SEA Games (Vietnam) 2021 and Physiotherapist at the 30th SEA Games (Philippines) 2019 and 28th SEA Games (Singapore) 2015, 8th ASEAN Para Games (Singapore) 2015, Standard Charted Marathon 2013 and the inaugural Youth Olympics Games 2010.Her dedication to patient care has earned Suelyn the Singapore Health Quality Award Gold in 2017 and Silver in 2016.
Her current interest lies in the area of strength and conditioning and plyometrics for amateur athletes.
