At NHCS, every staff member plays a vital role in ensuring that our patients receive quality care, their concerns are heard, and issues are resolved promptly. Our administrators are particularly essential, serving the backbone of our operations by maintaining well-coordinated processes and ensuring the smooth functioning of the centre.
To celebrate the invaluable work and contributions of our administrative professionals, NHCS held its inaugural Administrators Day on 1 April 2025. The event, thoughtfully planned by an organising committee comprising staff from various administrative departments, created an inclusive and engaging atmosphere that fostered appreciation and camaraderie.
"We envisioned creating a meaningful celebration that would bring everyone together,” shared Tasha Tan, Senior Manager from Academic Clinical Programme and Chairperson of the organising committee. “These professionals form the foundation of NHCS, and we wanted to create an opportunity for them to feel truly appreciated while strengthening bonds with their colleagues."
NHCS inaugural Admin Day organising committee (L-R): Janice Tan, Academic Clinical Programme; Kerina Chua, Cardiology; Peggy Jong, Human Resource; Pan Pei Xuan, Healthcare Management Executive Unit; Renie Teo, Human Resource (not part of the committee but helped out anyway in the true spirit of teamwork!); Tasha Tan, Academic Clinical Programme; and Ang Zhi Wei, Research Admin & Development Office.
A Day of Recognition
The celebration kicked off with a lively atmosphere featuring a sumptuous buffet and live food stations serving nostalgic treats including popcorn and old-school ice cream. Adding a thoughtful wellness element, massage therapists from the Singapore Association of the Visually Handicapped (SAVH) provided rejuvenating sessions – offering respite during the busy workday while supporting our valued community partners.
Attendees also participated in creative activities, creating personalised mementos including iron-on patches, marbled coasters and keychains. The photo booth was especially popular, capturing candid and joyful moments as staff members posed with quirky props. The nursing department's generous contribution of a claw machine added an element of excitement, with colleagues cheering each other on as they tried their luck at winning prizes.
From L-R: The celebration featured an array of thoughtfully planned activities, including therapeutic massages, a creative corner for DIY patches, and an entertaining claw machine.
Keeping the Spirit of Gratitude and Appreciation
The Inaugural Administrators Day was more than just an event – serving as a catalyst for strengthening relationships and bonds across departments while highlighting the essential role our administrative staff play in the NHCS’s healthcare ecosystem.
"Seeing colleagues come together and enjoy themselves made all the planning worthwhile," Pei Xuan, Healthcare Management Executive and member from the organising committee shares, "The smiles and laughter throughout the day affirmed we had achieved our goal of making our colleagues feel truly appreciated."
A heartfelt thank you to the Inaugural Admin Day Organising Committee for creating such a meaningful and memorable event!
To our administrators: your dedication enables us to provide the best care possible to our patients and shape a better future for healthcare. You truly are our unsung heroes, making a profound impact through your unwavering commitment each day.
