An instrumental figure in gastrointestinal endoscopy and research at CGH, Clin Prof Ang Tiing Leong has introduced minimally invasive techniques that have improved patient care, making procedures safer and recovery faster. He championed multidisciplinary care models for holistic treatment plans and expanded CGH’s research capabilities. Clin Prof Ang’s influence extends beyond CGH; he shapes national and international clinical guidelines, inspiring research, innovation and collaboration in gastroenterology.

Mr Stephen Chong has played a pivotal role in shaping the hospital’s people strategy during transformative times, such as the 2018 Eastern Health Alliance merger with SingHealth and the COVID-19 pandemic. He spearheaded initiatives to revamp talent management and fostered a culture of learning and inclusivity. Under his leadership, mentorship programmes have become robust, and open communication channels have strengthened, improving staff engagement and morale.

Ms Sarah Quek has been instrumental in elevating nursing education standards at CGH through her comprehensive leadership in clinical training and faculty development. She plays a central role in supporting the clinical competency development of nurses, facilitating clinical accreditation and championing medication safety initiatives. Her efforts have created a robust educational framework that supports nurses’ professional growth and enhances patient care quality.

With more than 20 years of nursing experience, Ms Zhou Lin Fang is a nurse leader in geriatric care at CGH. She has driven transformative programmes such as the establishment of the Acute Stroke Unit, assisting in achievement of the CGH Exemplar NICHE accreditation for excellence in elder care. Ms Zhou’s commitment to patient safety is evident in her leadership in pressure injury prevention and management. Her passion for education and mentorship has uplifted nursing standards and enriched care quality for older adults both within CGH and the wider healthcare community.

Ms Tang Mui Mui is known for her dedication to nursing excellence and clinical innovation. She led CGH’s nurse-led midline service — a minimally invasive procedure for patients with poor venous access — making CGH the pioneering hospital in Singapore to provide this service while delivering quality and affordable care. In her commitment to enhancing bedside care by alleviating administrative workload, Ms Tang spearheaded the hospital’s first procedural e-documentation for nurses, streamlining clinical workflows and enhancing patient safety. Beyond Ms Tang’s leadership in infection prevention during the COVID-19 pandemic, her mentorship has been pivotal in developing nursing talent.
GCEO OUTSTANDING ALLIED HEALTH PROFESSIONAL & PHARMACIST AWARD
A leader in pharmacy informatics, Mr Adrian Wong has helped transform medication management in CGH and beyond through technology-driven innovations. He conceived the idea of Singapore’s first pharmacy-only medication vending machine, and implemented automated pharmacy systems leveraging multidisciplinary technologies and robotics. He also played a critical role in the advancement of a centralised electronic medical record system and harmonising medication dispensing processes.
GCEO OUTSTANDING ADMINISTRATIVE AND ANCILLARY STAFF AWARD
With over 11 years of experience as an Operating Theatre Technician, Mr Joen Terania Tayo plays an essential role in supporting surgical care at CGH. He meticulously prepares for a safe operating theatre for complex procedures across various specialties. Beyond his technical expertise, Mr Tayo is a dedicated mentor who trains new staff in techniques and advanced surgical equipment. He has also led projects to improve surgical workflows and equipment design, contributing significantly to patient safety and efficiency in the operating theatre.
