Bridge over Troubled Synapses - Exploring Novel Therapeutic Strategies for Synaptopathy
Abstract:
Many psychiatric and neurological disorders, including Alzheimer's disease, autism spectrum disorders, and schizophrenia, arise from synaptic abnormalities. However, their underlying molecular mechanisms remain largely elusive. To shed light on these pathophysiological mechanisms, our research is centered around the complement C1q family of synaptic organizers. In this talk, I will share our recent discoveries and discuss innovative therapeutic strategies aimed at targeting synapses.
