Falls risk assessment and balance training
Our physiotherapists provide assessment and treatment for patients with poor balance and at risk of falling to improve their safety and mobility. Falls can cause serious injuries leading to loss of independent ability to walk and move, and deterioration of health.
Prevention is key, and physiotherapists are able to:
- Assess and identify patients with high risk of falling e.g. patients with history of stroke, Parkinson’s Disease
- Prescribe a physical conditioning programme to improve balance and reduce the risk of falls
- Provide advice on appropriate use of walking aids and advice on home modifications to prevent falls

Our physiotherapists provide assessment and practical advice for patients who wish to start an exercise programme to manage health conditions such as high cholesterol, high blood pressure and diabetes.
