Health First is a programme designed to educate food vendors in restructured hospitals about healthier cooking methods and the importance of balanced diets.
This programme aims to equip staff aged 55 years and above with knowledge on healthy eating practices, placing emphasis on preventing malnutrition in the elderly population.
This community-based initiative is a collaborative effort between dietitians, sports medicine physicians and clinical psychologists, which aims to create awareness on chronic disease (e.g. diabetes) prevention and management. Health Peers, who are trained volunteers, are empowered to make positive lifestyle changes in their community.
The Nutritional Health for the Elderly Reference Centre (NHERC) study
The study was successfully completed on 30 September 2020, in collaboration with Abbott Research, SingHealth Polyclinics and Singapore Economic Development Board, which aims to establish nutrition standards of the older population for targeted health policy and intervention for ageing Singaporeans.
