CTRU
occupies an entire ward with a floor area of 835 sq
m. It is an air-conditioned, cosy unit that can house
20 clinical trial subjects for overnight stays. It is
a perfect setting for the conduct of Pharmacokinetics,
Pharmacogenetics and Bioequivalent studies.
This facility was developed in consultation
with Prof Edmund Lee, Clinical Pharmacologist, National
University of Singapore.
The
essential equipment and facilities in place include
refrigerated centrifuge, -70oC
freezer with Uninterrupted Power Supply and auto-paging
system, Cardiac Telemetry System, Synchronized digital
clocks in every room, ice-maker and ice-shredder.
Other equipment such as EEG telemetry
can be set up depending on the requirement. This facility
operates in accordance to ICH GCP guidelines, with a
group of qualified and experienced research nurses.
Manpower can be increased according to the demand.
