Rehabilitation Medicine at CGH offers an integrated and comprehensive programme for patients to help them achieve their maximum level of independence after an injury or illness.

Rehabilitation medicine is a unique medical specialty that is not restricted by age or disease. It focuses on function and interaction of individuals with their environment and society. We help patients to restore any loss of function through therapeutic exercises, use of physical modalities such as heat and judicious use of medications. We adopt a holistic, interdisciplinary team approach.

We aim to help patients and their family understand and cope with the patients' conditions. We will equip the caregiver with the skills required for caring for our patients at home so that they may reintegrate into the community.

The following rehabilitation programmes are available:

Neuro-rehabilitation

These programmes are designed for patients with stroke, Parkinson’s disease, head injuries, brain tumours, intracerebral haematomas, aneurysms and arterio-venous malformations as well as other neurological diseases.
