Podiatry is a medical speciality concerned with the diagnosis, treatment and management of foot disorders and lower limb conditions. We offer assessment and treatment of the vascular, neurological, dermatological and biomechanical aspects of the leg and feet.

Our podiatrists offer the following services:


 
Diabetic Foot Management

  • Comprehensive vascular and neurological assessment
  • Screening and footcare education.
  • Management of foot and lower limb complication
Biomechanical Assessment and Gait Analysis

These are a series of tests and investigations performed by our podiatrists to determine the causes of the following pathologies:
  • Gait abnormalities
  • Ankle, knee, hip and lower back pain
  • Heel pain
  • Flat foot
  • Arch pain
  • Forefoot pain
Orthotics and Insoles


Orthotics are custom-made shoe inserts. They provide support for the functional control, cushioning, shock absorption or pressure deflection for the feet.

Skin and Nail Problems

Our podiatrists will determine the cause of such lesions and provide the appropriate treatment to prevent recurrence of such conditions. Ingrown toenails may be treated conservatively or with surgery. They are also involved in the treatment of wounds, warts, corns, callus and burns affecting the feet.

Paediatric Foot Conditions


Assessment and treatment of children's foot conditions are also available e.g. in-toe and out-toed gait.

Sports Podiatry


Our podiatrists can help to relieve and minimise the pain caused by sports through advice on the correct footwear and orthotics for the sports you participate in.


Occupational Foot Health


They also advice Workers on foot wear that is safe and comfortable at the workplace.


Specialised inter-disciplinary programmes, which include diabetes assessments, vascular, sports and rehabilitation clinics, are also available.
