CGH introduced a handy-size booklet on Antimicrobial Guidelines

It’s small in size but loaded full with important information. That’s the CGH Antimicrobial Guidelines published by the Infection Control Committee in collaboration with the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee.

The initiative came about to meet the Joint Commission International’s (JCI) requirements on infection prevention and control. It is the first book edition, and took the team a year to produce. Previously, the guidelines were printed on cards.

Differing from the national guidelines, the book is written more for CGH specialists. It provides the busy clinician evidence-based guidelines on the selection of antimicrobials in the management of patients with infections diseases in CGH. Another interesting feature is its colourful and user-friendly layout that categorises the pages by sites of infection.

The Antimicrobial Guidelines is available free for all CGH clinical staff and can also be found on the Intranet. For a copy of the handysize pocket reference, contact Mr Lim Wee Heng, Senior Pharmacist.
