Acting Head, Division of Cardiology

Dr Jayaram Lingamanaicker, Senior Consultant Cardiologist, has been appointed as Acting Head, Division of Cardiology with effect from 01 Oct 2003 to 30 Sept 2004.

Dr Jayaram joined CGH in June 1997 as Consultant Cardiologist. He was promoted to Senior Consultant Cardiologist in January 2003. He has been appointed as a visiting consultant to the National Heart centre since June 1997 and does coronary angioplasty and stent deployment at the Singapore General Hospital.

Dr Jayaram graduated with MBBS from the Medical College, Thanjavur, University of Madras in 1981. He later obtained his LRCS, LRCP (Edin), LRCS&P(Glas) in 1984, MRCP (UK) in 1989, FRCP (London) in 1999, FACA (USA) in 2000 and FAMS in 2001.

He has won numerous awards in his career thus far. Besides winning the National Service Quality Award and CGH Individual Quality Service Award in 2003, Dr Jayaram also won the CGH Best Teacher Award in 1999 and 2001.

Acting Chief, Department of Radiology

Dr Tan Tiong Yong has been appointed as Acting Chief, Department of Radiology with effect from 01 Oct 2003 to 30 Sept 2004.

Dr Tan joined CGH in April 1997 as a Consultant Radiologist. He was promoted to Senior Consultant in July 2001. Dr Tan is a visiting consultant at various institutions including Tan Tock Seng Hospital, Singapore General Hospital and KK Women's and Children's Hospital. He obtained his MBBS from the National University of Singapore in 1985, FRCR (UK) in 1992 and FAMS in 1997.

Dr Tan has a keen interest in research and has published several papers in medical journals. Some of his published papers in 2002 and 2003 include "Imaging of congenital middle ear deafness", "Dural arteriovenous fistula: feature on HRCT of the Temporal bone" and "Magnetic Resonance Imaging of Cochlear Otosclerosis".
