Acting Head, Division of Gastroenterology

Dr Teo Eng Kiong was appointed Acting Head, Division of Gastroenterology from 1 September 2003 to 31 August 2004. Dr Teo also heads the newly opened Endoscopy Centre. He joined in May 1994 and rose through the ranks and became a Consultant Gastroenterologist in July 2000.

Dr Teo got his MBBS in 1989 and M. Med (Internal Medicine) from National University of Singapore (NUS) in 1994. He attained his MRCP (UK) RCP in 1994 and FRCP in 2003.

He was cited in “Who’s Who in the World” Dec 2002 for his work in Hepatology. Dr Teo also won CGH’s Best Teacher Award in 1998, 2000 and 2002. This award recognised the efforts of the senior staff in the hospital in teaching and career development of the younger doctors. A survey is conducted among the medical and house officers to determine the recipient of this award.

Head, Psychological Medicine Division

Dr Tay Woo Kheng
Senior Consultant Psychiatrist, Dr Tay Woo Kheng was re-appointed as Head, Division of Psychological Medicine from 1 April 2003 to 31 March 2005. Dr Tay joined CGH in March 2001 to head the Division when the Psychological Medicine Service was expanded.

She graduated from NUS with MBBS in 1976 and obtained the Diploma in Psychological Medicine from The Royal College of Physicians of London and The Royal College of Surgeons of England in 1982. She went for HMDP Fellowship at Institute of Psychiatry, UK from 1980 to 1982.

Subsequently, she was at Royal Free Hospital, UK from 1989 to 1990 for another HMDP fellowship to do general hospital psychiatry. Besides general psychiatry, she has a special interest in psychosomatic, anxiety and depressive disorders.

Dr Tay is a clinical lecturer for Faculty of Medicine, NUS from 2002 to 2004. She was also the examiner in psychiatry for third and fourth year medical students in 2002.
