A/Prof Chng Hong
Chee has stepped down as the Chairman of Medical Board and Chief of
General Surgery since the beginning of 1999. However he continues to
pursue his professional interest as the Senior Consultant of the Department
of Surgery in Changi General Hospital. Dr Stephanie Leonard, the Director
of Clinical Services has also retired from service. The hospital is
greatly appreciative of their commitment and dedication.

by introducing medical audits and clinical performance indicators. |

APPOINTMENTS
A/Prof Fock Kwong
Ming, Senior Consultant and Chief of General Medicine has been appointed
as Changi General Hospital's Chairman of Medical Board. He joined our
predecessor hospital, Toa Payoh Hospital medical officer in 1977. Over
the years, he has as a risen to key positions within the hospital and
the medical community. Gastroenterology is his special interest and
it has led him to set up the first Day Surgery Endoscopy suite in Singapore.
He is currently the Assistant Master of the Academy of Medicine.
Senior Consultant,
Mr Michael Hoe, has been appointed as the new Chief of Surgery. He is
an experienced surgeon with a special interest in liver, bile duct and
pancreas surgery. Having done work in this area, he introduced the Percutaneous
Endoscopic Gastrostomy in the hospital. He is also presently the President
of the Singapore Chapter of Endoscopic and Laproscopic Surgeons of Asia.

responsibility to chart the hospital's medical direction.
