Philosophy

Baby Bonus Scheme

CGH ChildCare Centre is an approved centre for the MCYS Baby Bonus Scheme.

Facilities

• The Centre, located on level four of the hospital, is designed for the safety and comfort of our children.
• It occupies 570 square metres of air-conditioned indoor space.
• In addition, there is a spacious outdoor play area located on the same level.

Indoor Facilities

	The classes will hold their learning and play activities within their respective classroom. The classrooms are equipped with PCs for computer based learning programmes.
	A shared facility equipped with books and educational toys for guided play activities.
	A spacious area where breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea are served. Children also get to celebrate their birthdays here during afternoon tea.
	A conducive corner where our children enjoy TV entertainment together as the evening approaches.

These facilities are specially designed and sized for pre-school children. Besides the daily shower, our children observe a toileting routine to enable them to be independent and ensure good personal hygiene.

Outdoor Facilities

The outdoor play area is covered entirely with a child-safe surface for the children's comfort and safety.There are two playgrounds and a sandpit on the outdoor play area.There is also a sandpit and facilities for waterplay. The Centre is also equipped with facilities for waterplay as well as a variety of push-cars and tricycles.It is a place where our children can play and have fun while learning.The environment encourages children to explore, make new friends, and develop their creativity and curiosity.

Childcare Programme

Age Group
CGH ChildCare Centre provides quality full day childcare and pre-school education for children from 18 months to 6 years old.

Class Size
We adhere to the MCYS guidelines in terms of teacher:child ratios. 1:8 Yoddlers; 1:12 Nursery I, 1:15 Nursery II and 1:25 Kindergarten.

Kids' Menu
Our children are served with nutritious and well-balanced meals to enable their growth and evelopment. All meals are halal specially prepared by the CGH Dietetics and Catering Department. The menus are rotated every two weeks to ensure variety.
Below is a sampling of the kids' menu.

Breakfast
	Cereals Mushroom omelette Chicken macaroni soup Fried beehoon Hash browns with baked beans Croissants with cheese slices Muffins Cakes Full cream milk and white bread
Lunch
	Fish and Chips Fish or chicken and vegetables derved with rice Fresh fruits, jelly or ice cream for dessert
Afternoon Tea
	Cakes, muffins, cookies, sandwiches or red bean soup
Delights
	During outdoor activities such as the monthly Teddy Bear picnics, the children will be served special picnic lunches. During special holidays such as National Day and Children's Day,the children will enjoy a special celebration cake during afternoon tea.

Indoor & Outdoor Activities

Monthly Activities & Highlights

At the CGH ChildCare Centre, our children look forward to the following fun and enriching activities. These activities are conducted regularly throughout the year.

Fabulous Fridays

• One Friday a month, the children will celebrate Fabulous Friday based on a theme, such as "Hats", "Fruits" or "Animals". There will be games and activities centered on this theme.

Mum Can Cook and Dad Can Cook

• Dads and Mums are invited to lead the children in a cookery session. The children will help to dice and slice (with plastic knives, of course) fruits or vegetables to prepare a snack or food item which they will get to eat.

Class Cookery Sessions

• The children play chef during their class cookery sessions once a month. They will get to taste their own cookies, pizzas and breads at the end of each session.

Teddy Bear Picnics

• The children gets a chance to enjoy their lunch outdoors once a month during their Teddy Bear Picnics.

Field Trips and Library Visits

• Class field trips to a park or a place of interest are outings that every child looks forward to. In addition, our K2 children make regular visits to the library to help nurture their love for books at an early age.

Year End Concert and Graduation Ceremony

We mark the end of each academic year with a graduation and celebration for the graduating K2 children. All children will get a chance to perform a specially choreographed items for their proud parents and friends.

• One time registration fee of $30 (plus GST) for each new child applicant applies
