Endocrinology

The Department of Endocrinology at Changi General Hospital, Singapore provides a wide range of services for the management of diabetes mellitus as well as hormonal disorders.

Our Diabetes Centre is staffed by endocrinologists, diabetes nurse educators, podiatrists and dietitians.  All the services related to diabetes (e.g. podiatry, dietetics and retinography) are housed here, offering greater convenience for diabetic patients.

Apart from specialist clinics that care for those with complicated cases and difficult-to-control diabetes, we also have a unique one-stop Full Diabetes Assessment package, consisting of blood tests (glycated haemoglobin, creatinine, cholesterol and glucose levels, urinary microalbumin, retinal photography, podiatry assessment (for foot problems), dietary review, diabetes counselling, followed by a final review by an endocrinologist.

All diabetic patients, including those under the care of family physicians and the polyclinics, are strongly advised to undergo a Full Assessment annually to monitor their overall condition.

Our Diabetes Centre has also started a Chronic Care Programme to co-manage stable diabetic patients with participating family physicians / General Practitioners (GPs) by keeping track of their progress through the annual Full Assessment, and providing quick access to support services should the need arise.
